  • 1 cup(s) water
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/2 cup(s) buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 3 cup(s) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup(s) oil
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter or margarine
  • 2 cup(s) flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup(s) finely chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1/3 cup(s) whipping cream
  • 2 cup(s) sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup(s) cocoa
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon

Cinnamon Chocolate Cake Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the first four ingredients.
  2. In a saucepan, combine water, oil, margarine or butter, and cocoa, bring to a boil over medium heat. Pour over dry ingredients, mix well.
  3. Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and baking soda, mix well.
  4. Pour into a greased and floured 15x10 baking pan. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until done.
  5. For frosting, combine 1/2 cup butter, cream, cocoa and cinnamon in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until butter is melted and mixture is heated through.
  6. Remove from heat, beat in sugar and vanilla until smooth. Stir in nuts. Carefully spread over hot cake then cool completely
