Recipe
- 5 cup(s) flour, white, wheat or a combination
- 2 cup(s) warm water
- 1 tablespoon(s) salt
- 1 tablespoon(s) shortening
- 2 1/2 teaspoon(s) dry yeast
- 1/4 cup(s) sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon(s) sugar
- 1/2 cup(s) evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup(s) melted butter
Bread Directions
- Place yeast and sugar in bowl. Pour warm water over the yeast mixture and let sit for 10-15 min or until bubbly
- Combine melted butter, sugar, evaporated milk and salt, pour over the yeast mixture
- Add about 3 cups of the flour one at a time. Continue adding flour 1/2 C at a time until it cleans the side of your Bosch or if mixing by hand it no longer sticks to your hand
- Cover and let rise til double
- Divide dough in half, form into loaves and place in 2 greased loaf pans
- Let rise til it looks like a good loaf of bread
- Bake at 350 for about 35 min
