1 cup(s) powdered sugar
3 1/2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup(s) cold water
2 cup(s) sugar
1/2 cup(s) light corn syrup
1/2 cup(s) hot water
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
2 large egg whites
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla

Homemade Marshmallows Directions

  1. Oil bottom and sides of a 13x9 inch baking pan, then dust with powdered sugar.
  2. In mixing bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let stand to soften.
  3. In 3 quart saucepan cook sugar, corn syrup, hot water, and salt over low heat, stirring with a wooden spoon until sugar is dissolved. Increase heat to medium and boil mixture without stirring, until candy thermometer reaches 240 degrees, about 12 minutes.
