1/2 cup(s) fresh white bread crumbs
3/4 cup(s) milk
1/2 pound(s) ground beef
1/4 pound(s) ground veal
1/4 pound(s) ground pork
1 egg, slightly beaten
3 tablespoon(s) chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon(s) white pepper
1/4 teaspoon(s) ground allspice
2 tablespoon(s) butter
2 tablespoon(s) flour
1 beef bullion cube
3/4 cup(s) boiling water
1/2 cup(s) half and half
1 tablespoon(s) snipped fresh dill or 2 tsp dried dillweed

Swedish Meatballs Directions

  1. Put bread crumbs and 1/4 cup of the milk in a small bowl. Stir with a fork and let stand at room temperature for 5 minutes so that the bread can absorb the milk. Put ground beef, veal and pork in a large bowl. Add egg, onion, salt, pepper, allspice and soaked bread crumbs.
  2. Toss meat mixture gently with a fork until thoroughly combined. Shape into about 30 round meatballs.
  3. Put butter in a large skillet and heat over moderate heat. Add meatballs, about 15 at a time, and cook 10 minutes, turning
