2 teaspoon(s) baking soda, semi heaping |

Peanut Brittle - Grandma Hardy's Directions
- Spray a baking sheet with a cooking spray.
- Cook sugar, corn syrup and water to 230 degrees on a candy thermometer.
- Add butter and peanuts and continue to cook, stirring constantly until temperature reaches 290 degrees or soft crack stage.
- Remove from heat, add vanilla and baking soda and immediately pour onto prepared baking sheets. Do not spread or jiggle or touch til its cool! This it what makes it light and tall and crunchy.
- Remove from pan and gently tap with the back of a spoon til it
