1/2 cup(s) firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup(s) butter or margarine
2 eggs, seperated
2 cup(s) flour
1/8 teaspoon(s) salt
1 1/2 cup(s) pecan, finely chopped
2 cup(s) powdered sugar
1/8 teaspoon(s) salt
3 tablespoon(s) butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1 tablespoon(s) milk

Grandma's Thumbprints Directions

  1. Heat oven to 325. Lightly grease cookie sheets
  2. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, and 1 cup butter until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, blend well.
  3. Add flour and 1/8 tsp salt, mix well
  4. In small bowl, slightly beat egg whites. Shape dough into 3/4 inch balls. Dip in egg whites, roll in pecans. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. With thumb, make imprint in center of each cookie.
  5. Bake at 325 for 12 to 15 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cook 1 minute, remove from cookie
