Sourdough Starter Directions
- Dissolve yeast in the water, stir in flour and sugar. Beat until smooth.
- Cover with cheese cloth and let stand at room temperature for 5 to 10 days. Time required to ferment depends on room temperature. If room is warm, let stand fewer days, if room is cool, let stand longer. Can be stored in a bowl or a quart jar.
- Cover and refrigerate til ready to use
- To keep starter going: After using some starter, add 3/4 cup water, 3/4 cup flour, 1 tsp sugar to what remains and stir well. Let stand at room
