2 pound(s) round steak
2 tablespoon(s) oil
1/4 cup(s) soy sauce
1 cup(s) chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon(s) sugar
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) pepper
1/4 teaspoon(s) ground ginger
16 ounce(s) tomatoes, cut up
2 large green peppers, sliced
1/2 cup(s) cold water
1 tablespoon(s) corn starch

Slow cooked pepper steak - Grandma Hardy Directions

  1. Cut beef into strips, brown in oil in a skillet. Transfer to a slow cooker
  2. Combine the next seven ingreients, pour over beef. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or until meat is tender.
  3. Add tomatoes and pepper, cook on low for 1 hour more.
  4. Combine the cold water and cornstarch to make a paste, stir into liquid in slow cooker and cook on high until thickened.
  5. Serve over noodles or rice
