If you’re not there yet, you will be! We thought only our grandmothers had these spots and now we see them on us! The horrors!
Here are some things you can try to fade them
Lemon juice: mildly acidic, so it may be strong enough to slough off the skin’s outer layer and remove or lighten age spots. Dab the juice of a fresh lemon on the spots at least twice a day
Honey and yogurt create a natural bleach that can lighten age spots. Mix 1 tsp plain yogurt and 1 tsp honey. Apply, let dry for 30 minutes, then rinse. Do this once a day.
Buttermilk, an old folk remedy for age spots, contains lactic acid, which gently exfoliates sun damaged skin and pigmented areas. Wash your face with 2 tbs buttermilk daily to reduce the appearance of age spots.
These are good things to try before you head for the dermatologist.
