Egg and Sausage Casserole
This dish has become a Christmas morning tradition for our family. You put it together the night befor and bake it while you open presents! It also makes an excellent easy dinner

|8 slices of bread|
|1/2 pound(s) grated cheddar cheese|
|1 pound(s) sausage|
|2 1/4 cup(s) milk|
|1/2 teaspoon(s) dry mustard|
|1/2 teaspoon(s) salt|
|1 can cream of mushroom soup|
|1 can milk, measured in soup can|
Egg and Sausage Casserole Directions
- Cube bread, I use thick slices of a good home made bread at least a day old. But you can use any hearty slightly stale bread, crusts and all.
- Beat eggs until thickened, you can use a mixer or a blender. Add milk and spices.
- Cook sausage until no longer pink
- place cubed bread into a buttered (or sprayed with something like Pam) 9x13 baking dish. Spread sausage over bread, spread cheese over sausage. Then pour the egg mixture over the entire pan. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
