3 pound(s) boneless beff chuck
1 pound(s) onions
1/4 cup(s) vegetable oil
1 tablespoon(s) paprika
1/8 teaspoon(s) pepper
1 can, condensed beef broth, undiluted
2 cans - 14oz sauerkraut
1 large potato
3 tablespoon(s) butter
1/2 cup(s) onion, chopped
1 teaspoon(s) caraway seed
2 tablespoon(s) light brown sugar
3 tablespoon(s) flour
1 cup(s) sour cream

Hungarian Goulash with Sauerkraut Directions

  1. Cut beef into about 1 1/2 inch cubes. Heat oil over medium high heat, toss in meat and saute until brown on all sides. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.
  2. Peel and slice onions. Remove beef when brown, add onions to pan and cook in pan drippings until golden. Return beef to pan. Add paprika, salt and pepper, stirring until well combined. Stir in 3/4 cup beef broth. Bring to boiling, reduce heat and simmer, covered 2 hours or until the beef is fork tender.
