| 1 cup(s) water |
| 2 cup(s) flour |
| 2 cup(s) sugar |
| 2 eggs, beaten |
| 1/2 cup(s) sour cream |
| 1 teaspoon(s) almond extract |
| 1 teaspoon(s) salt |
| 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda |
| 1/2 cup(s) butter |
| 1/4 cup(s) milk |
| 4 1/2 cup(s) powdered sugar |
| 1/2 teaspoon(s) almond extract |
| 1 cup(s) walnuts or pecans |
White Texas Sheet Cake - Grandma Hardy Directions
- Bring butter and water to a boil. Remove from the heat, stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, almond extract, salt and baking soda until smooth.
- Pour into a greased 15x10 pan. Bake at 375 for 20-22 minutes or until cake is golden brown and tests done.
- Cool for 20 minutes
- For frosting, combine butter and milk in pan. Bring to a boil. Remove from the heat, add sugar and extract and mix well. Stir in nuts, spread over warm cake.
- Personally I hate almond extract! So I substitute vanilla instead
