Sausage Gravy
This is great for breakfast or lunch served over home made baking powder biscuits

1 pound(s) sausage, flavor of your choice
1/2 cup(s) butter
3/4 cup(s) flour
6 cup(s) milk
1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) ground nutmeg

Sausage Gravy Directions

  1. Brown sausage and crumble til done, add the butter and melt. Add the flour and cook a couple minutes then add the milk all at once whisking completely.
  2. Cook, stirring often till the mixture thickens and will coat the back of a spoon. Add salt and pepper to taste, keeping in mind that if you use a salty sausage you will need less salt. Add the nutmeg.
  3. Don't like sausage? Use bacon instead, or use no meat at all for a really yummy white sauce. A white sauce can be used for all sorts of things
